Course Overview

This is a short course on open educational resources (OER) that provides an overview and de-mystify concepts related to copyrights and Creative Commons licences. It is designed to promote better understanding of OER amongst educational leaders, administrators, teachers, librarians and students.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, you are expected to be able to:

  • Define OER and give an overview of the international developments related to OER movements
  • Explain copyrights and licensing issues and differentiate six types of Creative Commons licences
  • Find and evaluate OER to use them appropriately.
